Nice views and good vertical. Little short but that’s ok.

Was not expecting cliffs with ropes on one side! This was more of a hike than I expected by reading reviews. Pretty wildflowers. Head down the highway and hit up Frontenac if you want the mileage for a longer hike :) IG: shantastic.life

We did a loop of the North and South trails. As others have mentioned, there are signs designating a one way trail due to COVID which is awesome as some areas of the trail are fairly tight for passing. Absolutely beautiful views of the town of Red Wing and Mississippi River valley. The side closest to the river has been worked on to include rope rails, would not be advisable to pass after a recent rain.

South side was steep and narrow and I was thankful for hiking boots! Dog could have easily took me down hillside. meeting people is really hard. Right now it was supposed to be one way but markings are hard to find. North side muddy but easy except for stairs.

Its a great trail for hiking and rock climbing if that's your thing. It's really close to the highway for the first part of it but once you get up higher it quiets down. great views of red wing and the Mississippi River.

Gorgeous trail and views! We did the loop south to north, with my 9 & 12 yr old. It was a little too steep for the 9 yr old. It was also really slick from the rain earlier in the day... I would suggest you go on a dry day. It was a lot more intense than I thought it would be! The north side is definitely for more experienced hikers not afraid of heights or the cliffs. We made it though!

Nice 1 hour adventure. Shaded parking. Moderate steepness to start, stairs, great views. Recommend morning, started getting busier on our way down and more cars parked.

Nice trail to enjoy the outdoors. Gets crowded fast right now with social distancing happening. But everyone is good about staying apart for each other.

Lots of snow, slush, water, and mud. Water proof shoes or boots with good traction and it's not too bad. We made it with a 5 year old and a baby carrier, no issues. Had to get out and take advantage of the first warm day this year.

Nice views, but very noisy! Probably one of the noisier hikes I have ever been on. Too much road noise for this to be an enjoyable trail for me.

Very pretty trail with nice overlooks. Short hike, but hilly with steps. A little muddy, hiking boots recommend.

40’s aged couple. Ave hiking experience. Started on south trail and finished with the north trail and essentially did a loop. Good climbs and some concrete stairs. Hiking shoes/boots are recommended and would be helpful. Did the loop in about 50 mins with average pace and a few stops for photos. Excellent hike overall with some great overlooks of the Mississippi River and Red Wing. Note: trail could benefit from a few more markers where trails split.

Get ready to climb! Trail is tight and steep. Great photos from the overlooks. Wear hiking shoes because it gets rocky and some slick spots. All-in-all, my dog and I had a great hike.

I did the north side hike and then circled around to the south. Great loop. Rocky at times on the north side, but beautiful.. Glad they had ropes on the north side since you could easily trip on a rock or slip on mud and potentially slide down quite a ways. However, I’d do it again for sure. If you want to go that way, when you first enter and get to the top of the stairs, go right and keep taking rights (that will keep you on the outside loop trail. Fun to pop in the middle towards the beginning to see the technical climbers though. I wish it was longer!!!

Trails are a bit rough and not for people that can’t handle steep climbs but it is breathtaking getting to the top. I recommend taking the longer path which runs along the north side it’s really pretty but you can take some nasty falls if not careful or well prepared. There are ropes in the hard areas but definitely a carabiner and latch would be a good add. The stairs on that path also need a little repair as some have holes and are loose but pretty good from being 90 years old. Don’t forget water!

Nice hike with beautiful fall color. We were able to do a loop rather than out and back. If you do the south trail to the bluff and then head toward the River there are stairs that go down and then you walk a trail along the river back to the trailhead.
