Great views of the Kettle River. Unfortunately had people playing music on the trail.

HikingGreat!

We enjoyed the trails even though it was a bit chilly. We hiked on a Thursday which helped with the crowds. We came about a month ago and it was so busy, the small lot was full, most of the road back was lined with cars and more people were still coming in. Sadly, we left not feeling comfortable with the amount of people. We hiked the back of Quarry loop before veering off onto Deadman’s Trail. We took Wolf Creek trail to the waterfall, which is certainly worth the trip, then took the High Bluffs trail back to the Deadman’s trail. I was expecting High Bluffs to be more hilly but it wasn’t. Don’t let the name fool you, it was actually a pretty easy trail. We ventured down Hell’s Gate trail, our kids 7 and 5 managed it pretty well. We came to a cropping of rocks near the end and decided to turn back because it was a bit cumbersome with our toddler in a backpack. We plan to come back in the summer so maybe we’ll get a chance to finish. If you want a place for scenic pictures of the river, that’s the trail you want! When we reached Teacher’s Overlook, we continued to check out Blueberry Slide rapids and Mother’s Delight. There is a small trail that goes down along the river. Another great location for photos.

Absolutely beautiful park. Trails are very wide and you can veer off without losing the trail, so even when it is crowded, you are not close to other people. Love the rocks, foliage and river which make a gorgeous hike in a fantastic state park. We also went to the waterfall which was neat and worth the hike!

Beautiful. Uneven ground in places. Went off trail yet was still able to loop 3-4 different trails together

My recorded route is the hiking club trail. It’s good enough, but pretty crowded and simple trail. However, walking right along the river makes for an even better experience. Overall Banning SP is awesome.

A few different options for trail, all fairly easy, unless you decide to go down to the waterfall which is a lot of steep rocks and not a very clear path. But definitely worth it as it was gorgeous. We went when it was raining so of course the trails were fairly muddy in spots, but still a great hike.

Challenging when we Extended our hike to the waterfall. In all it was really cool if you like some history as it had an old Cory mine there. And some abandon ruins.

love the beautiful trail! I learned a lot of the local quarry industry history. Be careful to follow the trail marks. On the way back we ventured toward the river, it became difficult hiking. We had to return back to the marked trail.

My wife and I hiked this yesterday and it was wonderful! Interesting quarry remnants and absolutely beautiful near the river. We didn't start our hike until early evening so didn't have much time, but we will be back in a couple weeks to enjoy more of the trails here. I love fall! Cool and crisp and no bugs.

One more star than Wolf Creek Trail because it’s nice to follow the river and it had slightly less mosquitos than the Wolf Creek Trail, probably because being closer to the river we had a little more breeze.

Could see this being an enjoyable trail, nice views along the river. For me, the crazy amount of bugs made it miserable.

one of the nicest hikes I have been on. It was a little crowded but depends on how you look at it that could be a good thing so I won't complain.

Beautiful day, nice and cool… Trail was very shady and well-maintained. The maps were a little confusing, however, in my AllTrails app wasn’t picking up the GPS signal Got eaten up pretty bad by bugs despite having heave deet applied… The waterfall is nice… The river was beautiful :-)

Great easy-ish trail only 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities. Trail was nice and wide and well kept. Entire route is shaded. Bugs were pretty bad.
