Wolf Creek Trail is a 4.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Mio, Michigan that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Pretty, well marked and slightly challenging in the snow and ice. I loved it.
Great trail. Nice upkeep, dry. Good markers for the various paths you can take on the trail.
Great trail through the woods with glimpses of the Au Sable River. Excellent trail markings at each intersection also giving distance from point to point.
Decent, short hike. Few hills, but pretty easy. Follows ridgeline along AuSable River. No decent places to access river from trail for a quick swim. Busy park for paddlers and outfitters (put-in).
Has easy to follow markers. Only saw two people the entire route. I recommend it for anyone looking for a short and easy hike/walk.
We enjoyed this trail. It was relatively easy and mostly shaded. Despite the name, half of the hike is along the Au Sable, and you only cross Wolf Creek just past the trail head. There are some nice scenic river spots, but most of the trail is wooded, which we find very pretty also!
This trail is very nice! clearly marked with some great views of the river. Flies werent too bad either.
Should be labeled as “easy,” not moderate. Really enjoyed it! Can hear and watch the people getting on the Au Sable tubing and canoeing at the beginning, lol. Beautiful woods, lots of mushrooms, frogs, some butterflies, and we ran into a little snake (that scared the crap out of my wife).
