Wilderness Trail is a 5.6 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Groveland Twp, Michigan and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and mountain biking and is best used from April until November.
Great hike, but it is not over 8 miles (as shown in my All Trails recording). The hike was closer to 6 miles.
Mountainbiking with my dog Tucker.
Very nice trail for a beginner to mountain biking. Most of the trail is about 6ft wide but there are sections of single track. Some nice climbs. The trail is signed for mileage. You can start the trail at the DNR campground station or go over to day use area and start at the shelter just before going down a big step hill that splits the lakes. Getting back to the trail it's self. It's very fast and is nice if your not looking for a technical trail. There is a halfway short cut through campground if your not up to doing the whole thing.
