Lots of elevation changes. A few of the wooden bridges were washed out from recent rains so we had to maneuver around them taking us off trail. Beautiful hike!!

Perfect medium-difficulty trail for a nice 4-mile hike. I highly recommend starting at the Lower Falls and hiking up.... the brewery that awaited us at the top made it that much better.

I’ve hiked this trail 3 times now. It can be a little muddy in select spots. And of course during the spring months the mosquitoes can be quite terrible, so you may want to invest in some bug spray. The upper Falls are the more picturesque of the two and the lower falls you can swim in or soak your feet in. I’ve started at both the upper Falls and the lower falls before, and honestly don’t think I have any kind of preference. As for the hike, there are a lot of tree roots that you want to be mindful of. There’s a decent amount of climbing between the stairs and the hills, so you may want to bring trail mix or a power bar, and of course some water. If you like to stop and take pictures and enjoy the scenery, I would say give yourself at about 5-6 hours.

This trail was great! Bugs weren’t too bad if you keep moving and go at the right time of day (12-5pm). We hiked from the Upper Falls to Lower and then back, I would recommend, especially with kids, starting with the lower falls so then you can swim at the lower falls when you’re all done. It does get muddy if it’s been raining recently. There’s also a shuttle service if you find yourself not wanting to hike back. Would definitely do this trail again!

Hiked from the campground on trails 15, 16, 13, and 14 to the lower falls. This made a nice loop hike with some up and down but still easy.

Great trail and a must do if your in the area. some ups and downs mixed in with some mud. I would rate this trail at the lower end of moderate.

A few bugs and a little muddy at the beginning, but overall an excellent trail and hike. We had an 8-year old and 11-year old that set the pace and we did the hike from lower to upper in 2 hours.

If you’re up for an adventure this is the trail for you! Easy access from the falls. Make sure you wear proper shoes and there are abundant tree roots and obstacles to maneuver around. Waterproof shoes are also a good idea as there is a lot of mud and water near the lower falls. Tons of mosquitos and brush.

Bring bug repellent. They’re vicious this year.

Beautiful trail along the river. Bugs were bad and trail was very muddy in spots. Well worth it though. Well developed trail and mostly wooded. Footing can be unstable with numerous roots and some stairs. I would definitely do it again

Great trail! Very scenic and worth seeing. Bring bug spray with you, it has been very rainy lately and once you sweat off the first application, you will get eaten without it!
