It was an ok trail. The trail wasn’t groomed and overgrown.

Trail is easy to follow, but somewhat overgrown with grasses. Agree with previous review - mostly shaded path, but encountered some bugs and spider webs.

Nice shady trail (A Loop), did not see any dunes, however. Relatively bug free, but trail. is not blazed and lots of tall grass to wade through. Will do again in the fall.

We did the Bear Claw loop(loop A). it was a relatively easy hike, very woody and relaxing hike. We plan to work on the larger loops when we come back since Brevort camp ground is only a few miles west of the path.

Cross-country skiing

The National Forest Service and a group of local volunteers keep these trails packed and tracked for cross country skiing. Loops A and B are easy, flat trails. C, D , and E are classified as intermediate but may certainly test the skills of some of the best skiers. F and G have many steep hills, up and down with tricky turns. Do not be to bashful to walk some of these hills, as they have claimed many broken skis and a few broken bones. There are about 8 miles of trails in this area.

Great walk in the woods. Easy to follow pathway. Uneven terrain, but not hard to get through. Our dog walked it pretty well.
