Terrific walk. The stairs are good exercise, and have been repaired well since two tree collapses.

Great trail. Lots of steps, But it’s short. Nice and secluded, only a couple other people there.

There are signs saying the stairs are closed and there are boards blocking access to the stairs.

One of my favorites for a short hike although today we came across a tree down over the stairway at the beginning of the trail - it broke right through! We were able to easily climb over and the staircase was sturdy around it but it should be repaired.

Great work out, lots of stairs and sandy trail surface, great views of Lake Makatawa and the channel, with Lake Michigan in the distance. There is a shady and peaceful picnic area at base of stairs near limited parking area. I rode my bike from Saugatuck on very quiet side roads 65th + 66th Streets and parked it at the base of stairs.

Great place to hike! Starts with some good cardio up the 170 stairs and then makes a nice loop through the woods. Very peaceful!

It was fun to learn a little about owl habitats and behaviors. People aren’t picking up their dog poop so that kind of sucked.
