When you get to the point where you are at Lake Michigan , turn right and make your way across the bluffs on a number of well worn paths through the dunes. . We were able to actually wind our way down to the water. And once there it only took about 35 minutes to get back to the stating point where you first see Lake Michigan. This part/add on is not for young children as there are steep sections.

Could be strenuous for some since there is a lot of sand walking at the lookout. But, gorgeous!

It’s a very simple hike with an incredibly rewarding view. I saw many kids and elderly people making this treck.

We were really excited to find out that the trail is actually dog-friendly, with signs posted at entry saying pets allowed. Beautiful view, quick hike, but bring all of the bug spray and maybe a long sleeve because the black flies are not playing around. I’m told this is worse than past years, but I have no reference to compare.

The morning I went was misty, so you couldn’t see the surface of the lake, but it was still breathtaking. The trail was not very difficult, and there were planks set into the ground to offer purchase when climbing the hills. The trail was well-maintained.

Very nice trail. There are some trails on top of the lookout that people have created themselves that lead through the woods and to other dunes. They aren't super accessible to all people (branches/trunks to walk over, some steep bits, narrow path) and aren't maintained, but can lead to other pretty views. The designated loop covers several interesting landscapes, including a meadow. Went in a clockwise direction, which I think would be the easiest with elevation gain.

Easily one of my favorite spots in Michigan. I hike this every time I’m in the area & I bring the pup along too! Breathtaking views, would highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful. Might be the most gorgeous view in the mid west. At the peak of the dune looking out it looked like the Pacific Ocean. I knew Michigan had sand dunes but this particular spot is breathtaking. *bring sunglasses and flip flops* maybe bug spray depending on the season.

Easily one of my favorite spots in Michigan. The dunes are over 250 feet / 80 meters tall, and despite the warning signs, take 15-30 minutes to crawl back up (if you’re in decent shape.) It’s worth it going down to the water. It’s one of the most isolated lakeshore spots in the state. You can have a sandy beach all to yourself. Going at sunset is a treat

The view at the top is stunning. On the way down i did the full loop with the meadow. The hike in the trees was refreshing and the meadow was great for wildflowers, dune grasses, and trees. Definitely would do this again.

Great little hike with the option of a steep dune climb, if your feeling froggy.

A very nice trail. Pyramid Point was popular, but the rest of the trail was lightly used. The trail was well-maintained, and included the lookout, woods, and meadows.
