Pretty good trail. It does wind back and forth a lot so it covers the same terrain over many times. The day I went it was hot and sticky so there were not very many people using it. It looks like it is very heavily used by bikes much of the time.

This trail was a great work out but it was so much fun I really didn't care. Great downhill, going uphill had the perfect upgrade. Did all the trails except the black one (sawtooth I believe). To top it off I got to see 2 fawns. Can't wait to go again.

Amazing ride on a MTB, awesome hike, too! Challenging but not crushing, you’ll feel it!

Still closed

Trail still closed as of 3/17/18. Looked like it was due to mud as it seemed to be a well groomed trail. Bummed.

Drove over an hour to hit this spot to find the trails are closed until further notice due to weather.. even tho it’s nearly 50 degrees and sunny.. pretty irritated.

Nice area tucked away off busy 10 mile. Went for a 2 mile loop. Trail has plenty of very icy spots so be careful this time of year. Went at around noon on a nice Saturday and only ran into one hiker and a pair of bikers. Looking forward to going back to hike the entire trail

Loved it!! Will go back again and again. It’s a good work out. Lots of curves in the trails. Well maintained. Very pretty there.

Started at the temporary trail head at Art Van sports complex. Trail is mainly a mountain bike trail. Lots of switch backs a few bridge and ramps for mountain biking. If I had a mountain bike this would be the place to ride the trails. Views of forest which is always nice. Great weather to hike. We (my wife and daughter) were the only people hiking along the trail. Trail was hard pack dirt with some sand and roots.

very well maintained, variety of path options & distances, scenic... never would have guessed I was so close to a highway.

We ran every inch of this trail and loved it! It's obviously designed for mountain biking but we had a lot of fun. They designated different directions for the bikes every other day which makes it easier to go with or against the bikes when running. The ups and downs and switchbacks kept us on our toes. Signage is great and it is very well maintained. Will definitely be back!

Well-kempt trail but not much to look at. Busy with bike traffic on the weekends.

Check out my video review of this trail on YouTube:

I took my dog out to Merrell Trail today and had an awesome hike. The tree cover provides great shade from the hot sun, the trail is extremely well marked and has many deviations and loops for you to choose your own path, there were very few mosquitos, and the trail wasn't really muddy at all despite all the rain lately.

Great hike for my husband and our 3 dogs. Predominantly shaded, well mark trails. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the heave mountain bike traffic with a very thin path. If you don't have well trained dog that heals on leash, the chances of a dog bike collision is very high (you need to hop off the trail at a moments notice) . For your dogs safety and the bikers safety DO NOT use a flexie-leash!!!!

Fun to ride, the direction change by day of the week is cool. Watch out for walkers/joggers they'll surprise you on some of the narrow spots with limited visibility.

Good trail!! Hard, technical areas with good wooden bridges.

Nice 6 mile hike. Lots of mountain bikes traveling opposite direction. Keep your head up!

Great biking trail but too busy on weekends for good hiking. Still, a good trip and more strenuous than most trails in this area.

Great for Biking and decent for walking. Very time consuming, hot, and muddy. Bring lots of water.
