Little Beaver Lake to Trappers Lake is a 9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Shingleton, Michigan that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from April until September.
Beautiful, easy hike. We got a camping permit at trappers lake and hiked 12 miles round trip. We hiked past Little Beavers Lake and Big Beavers Lake, which then took us out to the lakeshore and we followed that to our campsite at Trappers Lake.
Wow! What an incredible hike! The views are spectacular and so many changes in scenery that every few miles feels like a new hike: beaches, cliffs, waterfalls and changes in forestry. In a few places it was difficult to keep track of the trail. However, we went in the beginning of May so perhaps this is before there is more foot traffic. Either way, it is definitely worth it. Definitely up there in my top hikes, and that’s also including Flat Top Mountain & Dream Lake in the Rockies and Gregory Bald in the Smokies.
