extremely busy. and tons of little black bugs, my one year old got bit in the ear and was bleeding a lot from it and im not sure if it was his blood or someone elses. didn't walk far on it. 2 stars because we did see lots of turtles and a big snake. stroller and kid friendly. but not as fun as other trails.

we hiked the day after a storm. couple of fallen down trees, but a very well manicured Trail. I understand they recently made some updates. Saw a few bicyclists and a couple of other walkers.

Great multi use trail. Perfect for your first ride or walk of the season. Also the trail goes West of Stockbridge into Munith and maybe further.

I inline skate this trail on the paved parts. Since the trail is a former railroad track, the grade is perfect for pushing strollers, skating, skateboarding, etc. I often see parents biking with young children. It is regularly maintained by park staff. The staff mows an aisle on either side of the trail. There is plenty of parking at the various trailheads I've been to.

This is a great rail trail that runs through several small towns with parks, trailheads and restaurants along the way. The Michigan DNR website shows an incomplete map of the trail running east from Stockbridge to Pinckney, but actually it continues east into Hamburg. Also, the state of Michigan, local counties and the DNR have partnered to connect this trail with Island Lake State Recreation Area in the Brighton/Green Oak area. part of this project was completed in 2015 and hopefully the rest is soon to follow. The trail is paved with asphalt in the Pinckney, Hamburg and Green Oak areas. Soon you will be able to travel through 3-4 counties on non-motorized trails! This map link shows this as a "loop," but the Lakelands is actually a rail trail and therefore is actually a point-to-point style trail.

Easy, you can tell that snowmobile's have roughed up the track over the winter. Didn't see another person on the trail. March 7th, 50 degrees, hiking.

Great trail that keeps expanding as the years pass. The paved portion goes all the way to Pickney now. You'll pass wetlands, lake front and wooded areas with plenty of hills, curves and scenery to keep you entertained. There are a few off shoots to this out and back trail and I recommend you do some exploring. One side path leads past soccer fields to a disc golf course, down a hill to a beautiful wooded area and a 1,000 yard bridge that ends right at the river.
