The Holliday Nature Preserve Association (HNPA) was organized in 1988 and consists of volunteers dedicated to the William P. Holliday Forest & Wildlife Preserve. The Preserve is part of the Wayne County Park system and consists of 500-plus acres of forests and wetlands that runs along tributaries of the Rouge River in Westland, Michigan. The Preserve is a place of beauty and tranquility within the most populous county Michigan. Like Arthur Richardson who donated the funds for the Preserve, in memory of his uncle William P. Holliday, the HNPA seeks to nurture a greater appreciation of this unique local natural resource by hosting walks for families, groups and individuals.

Enjoyable single wide trail that is nearly all shade during the summer, mostly level with some minor changes in elevation. There is a trash can in the parking lot that seems to be ignored by many people as there is lots of trash in this beautiful area (not the trail, just the parking lot). Also the parking lot seems to be a place for people to smoke and throw their butts on the ground. Thank you to the local people for this trail.
