Great trail with kids! Challenging enough to keep them interested and lots to look at.

Great trail. We did this as part of the DNR’s 1st hike event. Challenging enough to not be boring but not too much for most people to handle physically. It is rated appropriately at moderate. There are out houses up toward the cabins about 1/4 mile up the drive toward the education center.

An easy hike thru the fall woods to a nice, quiet lake that the dogs can splash around in. Beautiful in the fall, I missed peak color this year by about a week but still lovely!

A nice enough hike through the woods, had to deal with some noisy folk along the way but it was 4th of July weekend, would do again.

A great hike with plenty of views. It is well worth extending your walk to take a lap around devils soup bowl.

5/31/19 - we only made it 50 yards, there were so many webs across the paths no matter which option you choose.

Fun trail, passed about three groups of people on a beautiful Saturday afternoon around three. Agree with the moderate rating as there were roots and inclines! Took pictures along the way. Saw deer first thing. Well marked path and will definitely be back to take some of the off shoot trails.

Great trail to start the day (Actually Halls Lake Trail). First time walking this trail and I'm definitely coming back to do this one and connecting trails. I say it was Easy-Moderate; there are some up hill walks, but not too bad. It seems like a great trail for hiking and trail running. Hall Lake also provides a beautiful view. Definitely a lot of mosquitos, so I suggest wearing deep woods off if you want to avoid bites.

Great trail overall, good for little kids to explore. I love the Yankee Springs Recreation Area, live here my whole life so it’s nice to have some of theses hidden gems to check out, speaking of which, must see the devils soup bowl while hiking graves hill!

As mentioned, this is actually the Hall Lake Trail Loop, roughly 2 miles long. Heavily trafficked. Most people on the trial are day use and with their dogs or small children. Very easily accessed by way of gun lake road onto Norris which is a muddy dirt road that also leads to the long lake center and Devils soup bowl. The trial itself leads through a mostly level trail that passes a small stream that feeds into Hall Lake. After a half mile or so you finally get to see Hall Lake and it doesn't disappoint. It's a beautiful lake with 2 islands that. I wish I could of ventured out to the island, but with the mild winter day (60 degrees) I didn't trust the ice. The trail hugs the lake for a while until it leads to graves hill. Graves hill does not have a lookout and doesn't offer anything too special in my opinion (unless I missed something). The trail has signs posted to link with the Devils soup bowl/Deep Lake Trail, although the signs say 15 minutes it's more like 5. I'd recommend any first timer on Hall Lake to make the short side hike to Devils Soup Bowl as it one of the highlights at Yankee Springs. The trial turns south after the Soup Bowl Parking Lot and you will pass Graves Hill Again and the terminus of Long Lake Trail. The trail will go up a hill or two and Norris road is usually visible/audible to you the west of the trial. The trail says an hour, but in reality you can complete it easily in 40-45 minutes.

Technically this is the Hall Lake Trail. It's the most scenic of any of the trails in the Yankee Springs area and also, the most used. Part of this trail pairs up with The North Country Trail. It's a nice hike and the portion along Hall Lake is very pretty year round.

A good place to test out new skis or snow shoes.

it was a beautiful area but a rather easy hike. enjoyable little loop but if you want something great it's not worth it unless you are new to the area and want a short trip
