Bit swampy and buggy, but a nice view of the lake

We were unable to do this trail today bc we weren't able to reach the trailhead. Access is from County Road 669 which is closed. Is there another route?

Have been here three times since fall of 2019, most recently on July 29, 2020. Looks like it would be a nice trail except for the flooding. Today I was determined to get past it, so carried my 5 month old (wiggly) pup over the first bog, using the boards and logs. Was pleased with myself for getting across, then after a few mins ran into another bog that didn't have logs and boards in place. If you're an experienced, fit (good balance) hiker without kids or dogs and you have good gear, it's probably fine, but for the average hiker it's probably a bit too boggy, and seems to be this way though multiple seasons, not just after a heavy rain.

Nice trail with views of Lake Michigan. However, due to flooding, we encountered three different spots within the first mile that the trail was impassable. An alternate trail got us through the first, we found our own way at the second, and there was no way around the third. Also, leashed dogs ARE allowed on this trail, despite the tag listed.

Nice trail, just ran in to flooding. Able to find new paths, but one bridge was completely flooded. No way around.

This was my first time on this trail with my son and we enjoyed it. We didn't see anyone else out there today when we went this afternoon. There was no snow or ice left on the trail. Only issue we can across was a portion of it was under water but the Rangers had marked a path around it with flags which I found super helpful. Half the trial has lots of roots coming out of the ground so just watch where you walk especially with all the wet leaves on the ground. We will definitely do this trail again.

Great trail. Only saw 3 other people while keeping our social distance...and one of the three we knew. Wet areas that were still iced over which was fine. If the ice melts it might be too wet. Also we took our dog...there’s a sign that says no dogs!

Parts of the trail are flooded but you can go around them. Lots of active wildlife this morning. Birds, deer, squirrels, didn’t see any bear but have been told they are active in the area.
