It may be closed at another entrance, but we entered from the top. Kids hiked all the way down to the bottom. I only made it half way. We had gotten a fair amount of snow, and going downhill was a little slippery and steep for me. Kids took some awesome pictures. Lots of water coming down the falls and with all the snow on the trees, it made for some gorgeous pictures.

The trail is not well marked because it’s supposed to be closed to the public, very uneven trail BUT SO WORTH IT! My 2 year old was able to make the short hike.

As of August 23,2020, the trail is closed as severe erosion has washed out the area near the falls. There are signs at ~150' in at the beginning of the trail that state there is to be no trespassing due to the erosion. Parking area is a dirt space off of M-26 that is down an unmarked road (this road goes to private homes, so don't go too far.) Hungarian Falls (actually 3 waterfalls along a trail) is within a 5 minute drive, and is a much better overall experience. It is the better choice of the two.

As of approx 2016 this has been public land, purchased by the DNR. But I have only read that it has been closed pending DNR development. I have not seen any news that it is open or accessible. It is hazardous and erosion from reckless use has damaged it. Hopefully development makes it accessible and well conserved. It'll undoubtedly be in the news when it opens. If you visit now be sure to obey any signage and respect the planning and development process. This should end up a great public resource.

I was lucky enough to hike to it back in the early ‘80s and it was magnificent! The state should offer to buy that section of that owner’s property. Such a natural area shoukd belong to everyone, not some one greedy, stingy individual.

This is on private property and the land owners are NOT welcoming. Stay away from this one.

Closed. No trespassing sign. Google maps takes you to the wrong, as well.

Do not go here. Especially in winter conditions. The path on this map is a) illegal, b) leads to a cliff with a 170 foot drop, c) there is no actual path, d) loose rocks on edges of cliff I'm glad I didn't die.

I would not recommend going here. This is private property. The owner or one of his henchmen caught me. His dogs were with him and he threatened to make me find another way out. I’m not joking.
