Its a nice little park that offers a lot. The trails are a little rough but I tend to like that more natural feel than a paved path. If you like to take pictures these trails offer a lot of opportunity of overgrowth over all industry. Fun trail worth checking out.

Some of the trails were pretty tough with rocks, roots and steep drops. Very quiet along the river and the scenery was beautiful.

Great trail you get to choose high ground or low ground. Heads up I saw 3 snakes on the trails. Definitely walk around the lake if you can.

Good challenging trail for a moderate hike if you stick to the bike trails that follow the water. We did to the dam then backtracked 100 feet or so to climb up the washout with convenient natural root steps to help. Great elevation changes. We got 3.41 miles out just popping in and out of the trails. Getting a little buggy but the green is popping!

Best pure hiking experience in greater Lansing area IMO. Great up-and-down terrain along banks of Grand River. Scenic in all seasons.

Awesome family friendly trail system. Short loop goes around the quarry and is great for kids under 10. Take the loop north first and then head around the quarry for a little bit longer of a hike. Beautiful views of the grand river this time of year if you head north on the trail. Easy, quick, and not crowded trails for a quick 1 hour hike.

Beautifully gorgeous hiking/fishing/swimming/kayaking trail. Probably the best park in Eaton county. Hot day? No worries, it’s shaded, take a dip in the quarry if you need. I saw many people on the trail, but it wasn’t overcrowded by any measure.. $3 Entrance fee for Eaton county residents.

Running

Great trail running that's more challenging than some of the other local routes-expect the trails to be less groomed and more hilly. It's very shady in the summer and much less trafficked when Fitz gets crowded. There's also a quarry for swimming if you want to cool off!
