Nice trail! Beautifully maintained, yurts and cabins for renting in addition to numerous walk up sites. Mostly wide trail a car could go along and easy walk.

We hiked the loop around Craig Lake and marked our route at 7 miles. Needed GPS to keep on correct route even with consistent signage as some arrows were confusing; i.e. Trailhead with arrows on both direction but no mileage for either route. Bugs were really low on such a warm still day at 80.

It is the most remote state park in Michigan. A long, slow drive to get to the parking lot. Very quiet, peaceful. Bugs can be very bad in early July.

Used to camp there often. The road up to the lake was usually washed out bad so a mere 5-6 mi took an hour. When u reach the parking area you have to hike the last 1/4 mi to the lake which only has 3 rustic campsites. But if you like solitude.. this is perfect! Then you can spend your time hiking to Claire & teddy lakes and others. Watch eagles and moose as u sip your coffee and let the loons sing you to sleep at nite. ❤️

The road you drive on to get back to the parking lot is an adventure in itself. I don't need to ever drive down that road again. It is a one lane road that had cars going both ways and blind corners. This road is 7 miles long and you could go about 10 mph. The lake was amazing

One of my favorite places in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a great hike especially if you bring your fishing gear. Craig Lake State Park is filled with little lakes and as long as you don't go in the early spring the insects are bearable and well worth it.
