It was a nice area, only saw 2 people on the trail. Some areas of the marked trail are a little overgrown and if they get much worse there are alternative trails everywhere.

Bees at the beginning (to the right (East) of the parking lot) and some trails aren’t mowed but over all it was a good summer walk on this beautiful day.

Well maintained trail through woodland and prairie. Plenty of options of trails to follow. Only complaint is it’s not well marked for first timers.

Lots little offshoots. Went off trail a couple of times. But paths were well groomed overall. Variety of scenery with rolling hills, pine and wooded forest and prairie. Trails could have been marked better for novice/first time visitor.

I love to walk here, but I really wish there wasn't so much horse poop on the trails.

We hike here quite often. I wont rate on ticks, because they are everywhere! That being said, I keep my dogs on leash (like the rules state) and we stay on the trails. my dogs wear soresto collars and I have NEVER gotten a tick, either on them or me. Chipman have the best trails because they are well maintained and they care about erosion enough to reroute trails. Rating a trail on amount of ticks you get is crazy. this is our go to place for an escape to nature! if you lose your bearings you just keeping going because you'll find a trail marker to guide you. our favorite.

The trail itself was nice, and pretty with fall leaves. The signs as everyone says aren’t the best, we used the app. My low rating is simply because I hate ticks, and there were SO MANY! My dogs are both treated (one is old enough for the collar the repels and kills ticks) the other is still on chewies, and both our dogs were COVERED in ticks after this. At least 10 each. Then my boyfriend and I had a few, and they were in the vehicle. Just be prepared, wear spray, don’t wear black clothes... and check yourselves after!

Hiking with my puppy was great, only complaints are the trail markings were not helpful and there should be garbages at least at the entrance/exit.

Hiking

This is a pretty trail, with a lot of open sky where you can enjoy hiking in sun on the rare winter sunny days. The only issue is poor trail markings. There are signs pointing to different trail names, but no full maps. I have to keep the trail map up on my phone at each junction to see where to go. Otherwise, a fun hike.

Nice trail. Easy walking. Good variety of scenery. Trail markings are so-so, but the app kept me on track

I liked this trail. Thank you to everyone who takes care of it. It was an easy hour and a half hike. Lots of bugs though so I recommend spray, long sleeves, pants.
