We very much enjoyed this hike, especially north of the Boardman. We parked south. But we hadn't realized the new Grasshopper boardwalk would take us to a different (north) trail and finally we worried how to get back to our car on the south side of the river. This map was helpful.

Some of the best trails in northern Michigan—beautiful and very well maintained. Great for casual hikes and trail-running alike. The recently-constructed Grasshopper Bridge essentially doubles the size of the walkable park!

This was a great hike. We did the out and back loop on the south side of the river. There was fresh powdery snow and the forest and river were beautiful. As the name states it was very quiet and peaceful. I will definitely come back again, maybe try the loop on the north side of the river next time.

Great trail for a simple walk in the woods. it opens up into some beautiful clearings and drops down by the river for a bit. Made for an enjoyable day where I didn't see another soul.

Nice trail. Several access points. A few different ways to go and you can go all the way around if you choose.
