HikingGreat!

Pretty fun trail. Other Folx we encountered have great mask etiquette and also helped me and a friend when we got a bit lost. Good inclines thrown in .

Bird watching

Enjoyed the hike, however when I go back I’ll stay in the Barton Hills area, away from freeway noise. Muddy, but was to be expected given the recent rain. Lots of hills. We will be back.

To shave off some time I pretty much stuck to the outer loop for about a 3.5 mile hike - beautiful area, my headphones blocked out the traffic, but might be a bit loud if you’re bringing company

Well maintained unmarked trails. Highway sounds throughout. Nice city park.

This is a great loop. It mixes up the terrain and scenery. A decent amount of noise pollution from the highway during the first part however. All together a nice semi-challenging loop with options to add or subtract distance pretty freely.

Loved the trail and the workout with the hills. Traffic was moderate to heavy in the mid afternoon. Trail markers are not good and it’s hard to navigate.

Before 9am trails still frozen and perfect. After 1030am trails start getting muddy and more people. Beautiful hills, streams, and birds early in the morning.

HikingGreat!

One of the best hikes near Downtown Ann Arbor. The Bird Hills section has a relatively tall ridge with great views down to the Huron River. The Barton Nature Area section is nice as well, but not quite as interesting. I stumbled upon a deer along the secluded path there. You can also make a small detour to see the Barton Dam, which is definitely worth it. The only part I didn't love was the southern section, where the traffic on the 14 is very loud. You can also park by the Barton Dam, which I found a bit more convenient to drive to.

Really fun trail with some hill, water, and scenery. Very tough to navigate w/o app. Not too much mud and just the right length for 90-120 min spin in the woods.

Hiking

This was a really enjoyable hike. It was 50 out so the snow was starting to melt which made it a little slushy/slippery and wet but that wasn’t an issue with our waterproof boots! The trail has some decent elevation changes which makes the moderate rating pretty accurate. It hugs the highway for a bit so it’s a bit noisy on different sections but once you get through that section it’s really quite peaceful. Only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 is that it is not well marked. Had we not had this app to reference when we got turned around we would have been out there for way longer than we would have liked. But the app does a great job of keeping you on track!

Beautiful day, sunny, fresh snow & lots of hikers. Most had masks !!! Lots of intersecting trails, not well marked. BUT with the AllTrails app, had no problem navigating this adventure.

Very fun trail to walk. Pretty hilly and icy currently, but I had a blast and there were plenty of smells for my dog to enjoy himself as well.
