Beaver Lake Loop is a 9.2 mile loop trail located near Grand Marais, Michigan that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and bird watching and is best used from May until October.
Beautiful trail. Some tree downage as well as some mud. Trees and lakes were gorgeous with the leaves changing colors.
Great hike after you've already seen the pictured rocks (if you only have time for one ~10 mile hike in Pictured Rocks, Mosquito Falls via Chapel Loop is much more scenic). Trails were well maintained for an easy stroll with little traffic. The scenery throughout Beaver Basin Wilderness was very enjoyable.
Loved this hike! Word of warning: I did see a black bear fishing in Little Beaver Lake! Luckily, he didn’t see me and I was able to quietly walk past without an encounter but be prepared by knowing what to carry and what to do. Apparently, bears have been quite active in the area lately. The hike was scenic and worth it though.
Okay hike, lots of standing water on trails. Beaver Lake and Lake Superior are nice. Inland trail gets kind of boring.
Took a shorter loop. Had a great time. Very gorgeous views of both Beaver Lake and Lake Superior..
an awesome hike. lots of different looks from massive sandstone formations, to sandy beaches and stunning views along superior, to woodsy boardwalks, to views of smaller lakes. just so much variety. however, will say that the route specified on alltrails does NOT correspond to any marked trails once youre there. be prepared to follow the trail on the app with GPS at certain junctions. you'll be taking turns to campsites that you won't think would be correct.
4/5. I highly recommend going clockwise around the loop. the second half is pretty monotonous but the beach views of superior are sublime
Went clockwise. First part was really nice, along the shore of lake Superior was awesome. The return via the woods on the south side of Beaver lake was a bit monotonous and somewhat boring
Check out our adventure at TrailPerspective on YouTube: https://youtu.be/1XUdAQGcEyU This is a nice loop for a day hike or overnight backpacking trip. We decided to setup camp at site 2 of Trapper's Lake halfway through the loop. This was a great site right on a backcountry lake with unobstructed views. The 1st half of the loop was more scenic with many views of little beaver lake, beaver lake, and lake superior. The return side of the loop provided alot of solitude hiking through mainly forest with some creek/stream crossings. This is a great loop for those looking for less crowds. There is also a 1st come 1st served campground right up from the trailhead.
