Nice family friendly trail. Patch is very muddy at present due to recent snow melt so need to walk around sometimes. But nice short hike, with enough fun rocks the young ones can scramble over.

HikingGreat!Muddy

This is a fun trail system, and it's great that they allow off-leash dogs. The geology of the area is neat and there are a few opportunities for ascending up Whipple Hill and neighboring rocks. Locke Pond was frozen over today. Recent rainfall from Christmas day and snowmelt turned the beginning of the trail into a bit of a stream, so boots would be helpful if you have them. The parking lot is small (room for about 8 cars in the designated lot) and a few spots on the road. Great hike!

as others said, a nice quick hike that has some pretty good climbs. Nice view from the watchtower. would suggest the 0.4 mi extension for the other outlook as well.

Lost track of the red arrows to the summit at one point but other than that a great trail. Lots of dogs out and about. Most other hikers wore masks.

My almost 4 year old and I enjoyed this path. We spent 60-90 minutes on the trail and walking around the farm.

With my son. Hilly and great workout. 1 hour ish for a big loop. Really fun. Saw mount wachusett. Highly recommend. Smallish parking lot with a goat farm.

First to Review

Lots of different terrain. Due to its proximity, it is a very convenient place for us to walk, the dog can run and swim freely. On clear days, especially when the trees are bare, you can see Mounts Wachusett and Monadnock from the summit. It’s easy to get lost if you don’t know your way around, but the trail system has been improved over the last few years.
