Great view at the top, I took the red to the yellow. Narrow paths at times, quiet and peaceful. Wear good shoes. Plenty of ups and downs. I walked all the way down from my parents house up the access road., but parking is free at the park.,

SO MANY BUGS. Don’t forget the bug spray. The middle of the trail you get a cool view where the power lines go down the hill, but other than that this is just a deep woods hike. You’ll see a bunch of rocks and just thick forest. It gets pretty narrow in some spots too. Wouldn’t recommend wearing shoes without some really good grip, and prepare for some mud!

Good trail a lot of uphill. Lots of washed out areas that are muddy. But there are go around for the most part.

Hiked 4/16/20: We have been at this park several times before, but never completed the North and South Trails. It was muddy and flooded in places due to the all the rain from Monday’s storm. Great, quick loop when you’re in a time rush. Awesome views from the overlook in the yellow trail.

Note: Mid October (10/19/2019 this year) marks the start of hunting season, and we were told by the park ranger that the North Trail is their favorite for deer hunting. If you choose to hike, do so only with bright clothes (bright yellow or other neons other than orange recommended)

Pretty easy hike. The trail gets a little rocky after the power lines. Nothing here to break a sweat, just a nice stroll.

I enjoyed this walk, peaceful and lots of good scenery. I will definitely walk this trail again. The incline wasn't bad at all. and the view at the top near the power lines was great.

Nice, low key hike. Just enough to get your heart pumping while still enjoying yourself. Did this with some friends and went a little off trail to climb some of the rocks. LotS of fun and quiet. Didn't see anyone else while we were out.

I love Wells State park, lots of hikes for all levels. We also bring the horses there quite a bit. Very "New England" and unspoiled

Nice afternoon stroll, very quiet— late fall and we were the only ones on the trail. The trail entrance is not clearly marked (no name) so you must follow red and green blazes. Takes you through a power line field on 2 occasions, but the rest is scenic and calm.
