A fun spot for a trail run. Lightly used (midweek) and I parked at the Tully dam lot and did a counterclockwise loop from there. Follow the blue blazes painted mostly on the trees. The trail exits the forest for a short stretch as it passes over the brook above Doanes Falls. Later on Doane Hill Road the trail runs along the road for a bit before entering the park at the campground headquarters. Here the trail goes back into the forest behind the headquarters. I'm not sure how accurate the stated mileage was, as I judged it to be about 5 miles based on my normal trail running time. Minor issues with the bugs had me using my head net for some sections. Seems like the annoying horseflies are abundant this year!

Excellent, scenic hike on varied terrain, with stunning views of falls and lakes. Some scrambling over streams without bridges. Turned out to be 7 miles.

There are other parking areas for this trail - a canoe launch area on Doane Hill Road, the picnic area on Royalston Road, and at the dam on Royalston Road. Doane's falls is a series of cascades and is great during times when significant water is flowing. A nice hike.
