As of today. The summit and view are closed off. The trail is open. Just can’t get to the summit. Not sure how long it will be this way. There seems to be work being done to the tower. Since the ledges trail is one way, we had to bush whack to get to overbrook for the hike down. Disappointed after all that climbing:(

I short but steep and difficult hike with a very rewarding NE view of the top.

This is an amazing trail loop but it is not in Kennedy Park. It is operated by Mass Audubon and is a wildlife sanctuary.

So, this trail is incorrect on AllTrails. The loop shown on the map here is the Trail Of The Ledges/ Overbrook trail. This trail has been described as "a strenuous, 3 mile round trip trail". Another hiking web site says: "And for the most part, it’s pretty relentless, save a few yards here or there with little elevation change.". The MAP on AllTrails doesn't jive with the name of the trail. So, we DID take the Ledges/Overbrook loop. Strenuous is an apt description! We were scrambling up on all fours at points. And you MUST go UP the Ledges, not down. Dangerous to go down. However, the trails are reasonably well marked, and the view is lovely at the top. You are able to see both the Catskill Mountains in NY to your left, and Mount Greylock in MA to the right. Overbrook trail, (make sure you follow the yellow trail, here) on the way down is steep but lovely as it follows a brook with waterfalls much of the way. Pretty certain that this trail (Overbrook) is not an easy trail, as the site suggests. So, the stated Bluebird/Overbrook trail would definitely not be an "easy" trail either. This is a great Wildlife sanctuary however, for any skill level and has an education center for the kids

Couldn’t ask for a better day to hike some trails at Pleasant Valley Sanctuary. I loved all the bridges. The trails are well marked and great. I didn’t get to the ledge but I will within the next week. I really enjoyed my time on these trails!

Trail of the ledges is a fun steep climb. I recommend going up ledges and down the other way.. The way down on the other trail up the mountain had lots of streams and little water falls. View at the top is also great. I would recommend trekking poles in the winter. I would rate this moderate.

we did it in the fall. Amaizing. to of the mountain view is a good payoff. Rated easy but it's not. 2.6 miles of good elevation and sweat at 40 degrees.

This "trail" is misleading. It is actually a sanctuary with many trails of varying difficulty. We did the Overbrook trail to Mt. Lenox, a moderate trail. It starts out fairly flat but it quickly steepens and is rocky in several places. It's worth the views into Vermont and New York at the top.

great 3 mile hike. challenging ascent but worth the views at the top. nice peaceful setting. the beaver ponds are worth a visit while you're there. $5 pp fee collected as it is part of Mass Audobon.
