Lots of options up, tried the Tower Trail and then right at the concrete pipes, up, and on to the Sugar Trail and Caves. Take your time and explore at the caves, you can actually traverse within from one side to the other. 3 miles even.
can't fit in cave with backpack, so if you're going just go with headlamps/flash lights. very dark but really cool. it's slipper, stay safe. the woods park of the hike is gorgeous! gentle traffic for a packed parking lot
This is definitely a creepy trail. Did this in the morning and there was barely anybody on the trail. I think we saw less than 5 people in total. The trail starts to become hard to follow once you get closer to the caves. Don't try to speed right through this as it can be dangerous near the caves. I wouldn't bring a kid or a dog on this trail unless they are experienced in hiking due to the sudden drop offs and sharp rocks.
Nice trail, not too rocky. Best views are up the fire tower (cannot go inside because of COVID).
It was awesome of a hike. When you get to the Roaring mountain peak it looks like there’s a trail that goes continue going down. It’s a red marker, I wouldn’t recommend taking it because it eventually ends up becoming you scaling rocks and going completely downhill at times on all fours; are not very appealing. Especially if you’re not a hiker it could potentially be dangerous. The market ends up kind a trailing off leaving you to just figure it out on your own how to get back onto the trail. Luckily I have the app recording all my steps so I was easy to actually direct myself back to a trail. All in all it was pretty cool I kind of veered off trail doing my own thing. I saw the the fire tower which was closed at the top. Totally worth the view from the top.
Nice trail, well marked and easy to follow. A little tricky for a dog if they are a puller (steep drop offs and some tricky climbs) but so nice to feel the cool air in the caves.
Nice trail. A few short inclines but I’d say this is easy rather than moderate. No views, though so if you’re looking for scenery, this ones not for you.
It was an awesome hike found the caves and sugar shack. You can go in the caves and explore I would definitely recommend.
Super fun hike. Caves and ruins to explore. (Caves are 20 degrees cooler - great on a hot day)
