This was a great hike! Overall I recommend this trail for any age level or experience, as long as you're okay with hiking for 1.5-2 hours depending on your speed. We were taking our time and walking somewhat slowly and we did the trail in about 2 hours 15 minutes. That was with lots of photo stops and taking our time walking and talking and catching up on life haha. I was with my experienced friend who is an Eagle Scout like myself, and we had a wonderful hike. Lots of small pulloff trails that lead up to the beautiful lake views, and probably great spots for fishing. We are both photography hobbyists and we quite enjoyed the photos that we got. We went knowing that it had rained yesterday, so there were some slightly muddy areas, but they only popped up once in a great while and were extremely easy to go around. Just watch out for horse poop along the trail, that turned into somewhat of an issue if we weren't paying attention! Another issue was that we went just before sunset and it was very buggy. Mosquitos were everywhere and we definitely needed bugspray. Luckily neither of us found any ticks though, but still be in the lookout for those nasty bugs.

I've been on this trail a few times in the evening and have never seen another soul, despite lots of cars parked down the street. A nice easy walk - be sure to check out the short side trails leading down to the pond for some beautiful views!

Nice wide trail. Kid friendly. Trails that go off to the lake shore line which was nice.

Great trail! Wide and easy to follow. Great scenery. There’s many spots that take you off trail to the water line but beautiful and easy to get back on!

Walking

Nice leisurely walking trail with gentle inclines and wide grassy paths. Side trails off the main path to look out over the water along the way. Only saw a few people on our walk...

This is a very nice trail. There are a few areas where trees have fallen across the path and things have become a bit overgrown, but it is still easy to maneuver. The trail is pretty obvious, but it is not marked. There are many areas where you can easily stray from the main path and end up at the water. It’s not a huge detour, but you might be frequently backtracking after you stop to enjoy the view. We went on a very hot and humid day, so the bugs were out in full force - even with bug spray on. On the plus side, We saw hundreds of tiny frogs hopping across our path (so watch your feet) and at the turnaround, near the water, there were tons of dragonflies. When you park, the entrance to the trail is not neat to the sign - it is across the street. There is a trail right near the sign, that’s not the one you want.

Nice long walk in the woods, many birds and we saw some frogs...a little buggy in places but not bad. Nice views of the lake at the half way point

Really great trail. I have run a lot of trails in the area and this is one of the better ones. Combined this with Betsys Neck for a great long run.
