The trail is pleasant but not blazed. The spur trail along the telephone lines is overgrown and potentially a tick problem. it is good for insects and meadow plants. Of geological interest is burnt coal in the railroad bed. Many mushrooms are found of which the flavorful boletus edulis is abundant.
Old Billerica marrow gauge rail trail. Dries up pretty quick. Clean and well kept.
