Rocky Narrows Overlook Loop is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Sherborn, Massachusetts that features a river and is rated as moderate. Well marked trails maintained by the Trustees. We parked at the 87 Forest St. entrance to avoid having to cross the train tracks. The view from King Philip's overlooks is fantastic. However, we went on a day with thick layers of ice and snow on the ground so the ascents and descents were quite slippery. We mainly stayed on the red and blue trails but did venture onto the black trail by the Charles a short ways then headed back to the parking lot via the Orange trail. Did not meet many people. The forest was beautiful as is the Charles.
blazes were adequate in most places. parking on forest st very limited.
Nice trail! This specific loop wasn’t as obvious as expected but made our way thanks to AllTrails. Gorgeous day and great views!
Excellent trail, parked at the southern end. Crossed railway tracks with care.
Beautiful well marked trails with great overlooks. Several trails were washed out and not passable but there were decent detours. We definitely would go again.
The trail has enough interesting features to keep you happy with pine woods, small cliffs with views, a river, lowlands, and a field. Lots of intersecting trails makes it a bit confusing but the area is small so hard to get lost. Parking is the biggest hurdle.
Great trail. Climbs and descents are a bit steep. The downloaded map takes you on parts of the red, blue and orange trails. Some great views. Parking is limited.
I started from the other parking lot but hopped on the blue trail. I've done other trails here but the blue is my favorite because of the pines and the overlook. Boots recommended. Not too buggy. Some good hills.
