Red Maple Swamp Trail is a 0.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Eastham, Massachusetts that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

I saw on the trail description here that they allowed leashed dogs, sad to report there are 'No Pet' signs posted.

Nice boardwalk finished winter 2017/ spring 2018, but some spots soft. TONS of poison ivy, even starting to grow up through the boardwalk. Stick to the center of the boardwalk to avoid accidentally brushing up against the poison ivy. Beautiful scenery

short trail, not much to see, parking is by permit only but was able to park along the road. part of the ajoining trail closed for renovations that will take place fall/winter 2017 per sign. seemed like several of the planks where until repair on the boardwork covered with ply wood throughout.

I had bad luck bird-wise on the afternoon I went, but the boardwalk is beautiful. Beware that the entrance described in the directions is no longer open and it's not possible to make a loop. To access the boardwalk, either approach from the Penniman House or walk the paved trail to the Sharpening stone, continue on the trail to the right and make another right into the swamp area.
