Trail has had a lot of brush cleared out along the sides! Little mucky due to weather but still a great easy walk. Definitely do the Swamp Maple loop along with the Fort Hill walk to the shore.

This is a gorgeous and easy walk. We combined it with the Fort Hill Trail to get a longer walk. Highly recommended!

Perfect nature walk with our child. Great for families. You could probably even use a jogging stroller on it.

The boardwalk is great, and the trails are very well-maintained. A little buggy on a humid day, but a very nice trail.

Always a favorite of ours during the summer months or winter months. In the winter, we have the trail almost always yo ourselves and in the summer months, it does become crowded. Summer months bring a lot of bird watching. The thick brush along the way next to the marsh has been drastically cut down to bring back the beautiful views of the marsh that have been missing for so many years. It was a volunteer project and we thank all the volunteers for their help.

Nice boardwalk finished winter 2017/ spring 2018, but some spots soft. TONS of poison ivy, even starting to grow up through the boardwalk. Stick to the center of the boardwalk to avoid accidentally brushing up against the poison ivy. Beautiful scenery

short trail, not much to see, parking is by permit only but was able to park along the road. part of the ajoining trail closed for renovations that will take place fall/winter 2017 per sign. seemed like several of the planks where until repair on the boardwork covered with ply wood throughout.

I had bad luck bird-wise on the afternoon I went, but the boardwalk is beautiful. Beware that the entrance described in the directions is no longer open and it's not possible to make a loop. To access the boardwalk, either approach from the Penniman House or walk the paved trail to the Sharpening stone, continue on the trail to the right and make another right into the swamp area.
