Easy going. A little tricky around the house finding the trail but it's a nice casual loop.

Excellent except for the parts of the trail which were missing 1) from the waterside trail up from the water to Ft Hill trail and 2) the part of Ft Hill trail through the swamp to the parking lot near Penniman House. Other than that, a beautiful easy (on the boardwalk) walk with lovely scenery.

Loved this trail! Enjoyed the boardwalk trail through the swamp, and such beautiful views of the marsh, so peaceful. Plenty of beautiful flora. Wear long pants - there is some poison ivy and signs noting deer ticks. We did the Nauset Marsh and Buttonbush trail a couple days ago and thought this was even more scenic (and we quite liked that one, too!). We will definitely be back - really looking forward to coming earlier in the morning on a clear day, I am sure with the morning light this is absolutely stunning.

Beautiful views out over the marsh, especially from the pavilion at Indian Rock. Combining the walk near the shore with the Red Maple Swamp Trail makes for an easy walk with great variation.

beautiful trail with multiple surfaces - composite boardwalk, packed gravel, sand, and packed dirt. Trail behind Penniman house was overgrown and I had to do some bushwhacking through thorny bushes. It had rained the night before so overgrowth was hanging low and covering that part of the trail. Parking at Hemenway Road requires an Eastham resident sticker.

Trail has had a lot of brush cleared out along the sides! Little mucky due to weather but still a great easy walk. Definitely do the Swamp Maple loop along with the Fort Hill walk to the shore.
