Beautiful quiet day snowshoeing after the snow. Wildlife & open trail. Perhaps a longer hike in Spring or Fall
This is a great, well-maintained trail. It is easy in the sense that you can follow it easily, but it is a challenge in the sense that the first half is all downhill and the second half is all uphill!
Great easy hike with lots of rivers and a spot on the Quabbin where a river mouth meets the reservoir.
5 miles down 11 then a bit towards gate 10 governors woods road then back to 11.
Nice, wide trail. Great beach for a picnic. Only came across a few other hikers.
Looking forward to next summer to spend time on the little beaches.
Great trail with many off-shoot opportunities. Nice late fall trail.
Beautiful scenery and bonus festival toilet about a third of the way around.
Day was really windy and you could hear the waves from the Quabbin on the trail above! Saw more people this time but everyone very respectful about social distancing
Make sure to go well before sunset - is much darker under the trees. Trail is more of loose gravel, and where you split off to meet the reservoir not well marked. Trail makes a Y where you go left to keep to gate 12 (didn’t do because saw reviews that say you walk along road) and right to go down to a small clearing with a Porta Potty. On one of the trees in this clearing you see a sign 11-3: you can follow this path down to the beach. Really beautiful view and kept really clean! We followed the same way back up (recording is only one way) and certainly will be a workout on the way back up as is pretty steady incline the whole way up!
Cannot park on street in pelham but the police officer on duty told me as long as all four tires are off the asphalt I wouldnt be towed. If you are still nervous there is an entrance with a dirt parking area on schutesbury rd.
Pleasant walk until the stretch of Route 202. I’d recommend doubling back after enjoying the water.
Nice hike. A little buggy. Nice wide trails make for easy physical distancing.
Nice long walk/hike with strong incline. Chilly today, on a warmer day id spend more time at the bottom.
Not as much of a hike but a really nice walk through the woods. The Quabbin beach front is a little gem. Beautiful spot to take a break and relax. The rock walls on the Gate 11 road we’re really cool to look at - get to walk thru a piece of Quabbin history.
We prefer more of a scenic hike. This was a gravel/access roadway straight down with rock walls on either side. At bottom you get to a small portion of reservoir with cute little beach and then straight up. We prefer traversing trails in woods. It’s a good conditioning trail
