Nice Path, great if you want to cover some distance and we saw a bunch of wildlife along the way too.

This is a good trail. Lots of birds singing there around a pond. Then it becomes a spring that pours down to the reservoir. There is a cove which is beautiful. I like it there in early spring. Not sure how it is in winter or summer.

AllTrails has a bad plan for this trail. The indicated trail head is down a heavily rutted dirt road, and I heard from a police officer in the town that the people living on that road can be trouble. What AllTrails shows as the bottom mid point at the end of the dike of this out-and-back trail is actually where you have proper road access and parking, also a porta potty. Right now the area is teaming with gnats. Deep Woods Off kills them but doesn't repel them. It was a breezy day, which helped a lot. Something else to note is that according to park rangers there are an estimated 20 black bears around Quabbin. When unwanted bears are removed from towns in Mass, this is where they take them. Bear scat was visible on the trail. As somebody noted this is really just an access road. Maybe more interesting to history buffs because sometimes you see residue of the old communities that were displaced. Mountain bikers take note. Some areas of this route quickly turn into erosion gullies. The police had to do an emergency rescue of a biker last year who busted themselves up. There aren't really any nice places to hang out and enjoy a view until you get to the dike. It's a shame, because there is a lot of potential that hasn't been realized.

Its a forestry road, not a trail. Not exciting at all. Wont do it again

Quabbin is visible through the trees, but no open view until the very end at the dike. BE CAREFUL OF TICKS! A hike of this trail on 7/29/2018 resulted in over a dozen ticks - check your clothes and shoes periodically if you plan to complete this route.

Gorgeous trail, great views. Dog friendly, could be a bit long for younger kids. Must come back in Fall!
