Prospect Hill Park is a 3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Waltham, Massachusetts that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Given the trail conditions today, cleats or micro spikes would be wicked smart. Thick, slippery ice covered both the trails and paved roads. Most of the time I had to walk on the side of the trail on snow that was crusty to avoid slipping. Going down was more slippery than going up. On the back-end of the loop, the descent is super steep and required that I grab a hold of trees or bushes on the side of the trail to make it more of a controlled slide down. The view of the Boston skyline and suburbs from the top of the hill makes it worth the effort though.
Trails are well marked and maintained. Currently dry — no snow or ice
Nice park with a number of small trails and great views of Boston. Dropped daughter off at Bentley College and wanted to take to get some steps in. Followed paved road and took a number of smaller trails over 1.5 hours. Was able to walk a little over 5 miles. Ran into two people walking dogs otherwise the park was empty. Accessed via the Totten Road parking lot.
Great trail, well signposted, lots of smaller trails to explore, great view of the city from the top of the hill. 10/10
Went left to start going straight up and get the heart pumping. Nice way to avoid the crowds.
Fairly busy trail...some hills but not too bad. Borders on streets and commercial areas at times, but a nice, quick wooded hike with some elevation.
Fall loop. Definitely nice Super views. Not crowded even Saturday morning. Waking tip: Go left in route first up steep hill to make return downhill on less slick road.
