Plymton, Witches Cove, Fischer, Desert Loop is a 5.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Sudbury, Massachusetts that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October.
This is a system of lovely trails. Part of the mapped route goes on an old, eroding paved road whereas other parts are dirt-packed, sandy, or pine-needle covered. Every part is wide and well maintained with very few rocks or tree roots. There are also lots of boardwalks in good working order over wetland and bodies of water. A great deal of the trail is through a charming, old pine forest with hardly any undergrowth and consequently few bugs. The scenery along the way is magnificent as you go from a marsh to an old forest and forest clearings to a pitch pine stand, an old railway, and more. An excursion off-route into Hopbrook to walk by the pond is worth the extra mileage.
Really beautiful! Very flat and easy. Needed all trails GPS several times to make sure we were heading the right way

Great trails, however some areas were too flooded to be passible at this time of year. The trails that were clear, however, were very nice.
this is great trail for jogging if you're not looking for hills. It's a relatively flat throughout. There are some areas to get by a beaver dam that can be a little wet muddy sometimes. The terrain has some Roots but other than that fairly even for jogging
The trail itself was in pretty good condition, but the portion that uses the Fisher Loop has lots of downed trees right now. This was very tricky on a bike but I imagine hikers will have it easier. There is also a section of trail by the beaver damn that is overflowing right now. Other than that the loop was really nice. I love these woods and I will make a return trip.
