This is a great walk for sightseeing, but it tends to be fairly crowded, particularly in the warmer months. I don't take my dogs when I do this one, and I wouldn't really call this a trail since it is a good portion of it is the sidewalk that runs along the waterfront in downtown Plymouth. The map shows it starting at Nelson Street Beach down past Plymouth Rock, but make sure not to miss the short bike trail that heads the other way up toward Kingston for about a mile with public beach access and a gorgeous Trustees of the Reservation Oceanside cliff with spectacular views. On a clear day, you can see Provincetown. The scenery is breathtaking and there is a great jetty you can walk all the way out on behind the East Bay Grill. There are public restrooms near the Plymouth Rock monument and plenty of restaurants and gift shops along the route. In the summer, parking can be tricky in the public lot at Nelson Street. If you start at the top of the bike trail a mile off of Hedge Road, there is more parking.
