Wooded, shaded trail. The overlook is to the right about 1/4 mile in. We started to the left, which starts downhill and then is about a mile steady incline, steep in parts, including a few spots with steps. After the overlook, you go down. Trail is rarely flat, you’re either going up or down. View from parking lot is nice, too!

The trail was well marked and easy to follow. Lots of chipmunks and squirrels darting around.

Nice trail with great views. Some rocky terrain on the lower part of the trail. Trail was well marked. Parking lot can get full but the trails are usually pretty empty. And the view from the parking lot is a great way to enjoy your post hike snack.

Parking situation wasn’t great but the plus side is we didn’t cross that many people on the trail. Trail was dry and overlooks were nice. We took the charcoal trail and my 5 year old was fun (she’s generally a complainer)

Excellent jaunt. We did the charcoal trail and saved the vistas for the end. This meant a steady uphill go midway but even that was manageable.

Nice ascend to the gorgeous views at the top. The trail is well maintained and we saw some beautiful wildflowers! There a few benches at the vistas to rest, have a snack, and admire the wonderful scenery!

Best views are at the beginning, it’s a consistently hilly trail where you’ll work up a sweat and is occasionally rocky with a few very easy stream crossings. Not crowded even with a full parking lot. Easy to manage for our fit but kind of lazy dog.

4.5 stars. Excellent, scenic, great vista overlook, well marked trails, fairly dry for a spring hike.

Really pretty trail. We started to the left which went downhill a bit, leveled off for awhile and then was a moderate climb up for awhile. Beautiful views from the top and then over at the vista. We would probably start the loop on the right next time, especially with littles.

I would rate this more as an easy hike rather than moderate. Even though the parking lot was full, I didn't run into anyone the whole time I was back there. The trail is very well-marked and has lots of pretty spots to sit and take it all in.

Pleasant loop with the vista being a perfect place to see the gorgeous fall colors. Well, the entire trail will take care of that :) Well marked and not strenuous at all. Great for a short trail run too.
