Nice snowy hike. Easy enough to without snow gear. Once one the more frequented routes the trails were more packed down and easier to walk! Nice view all the way to downtown from the summit
It'd be much nicer with less traffic. There are plenty of trails with varying degrees of difficulty. Unfortunately, that didn't help much in a time when the entire country is tired of being sequestered at home. The place was a zoo.
Love this place, it’s history and views. On a mild New Year’s Day it was quite crowded. But always a nice place for a walk/hike
Crowded parking lot. Pretty heavily trafficked around the parking lot and a little on trails. Really beautiful though!
Outstanding. One of the best hikes I’ve taken in the Boston area. The trustees of reservations beautifully maintains the Noanet Woodlands with plenty of signage and clear blazes. I started on the adjacent Hale property to hike to Powisset and Strawberry hill. The Hale property is not as well-maintained but there’s a nice view from Powisset Hill. The historic Ironmill site with interpretive signage on the Noanet property is fascinating. And Noanet peak is just a beautiful spot to sit. First-rate.
I parked in the $5 lot. I had to walk to the road and walk 100 yards to get to the start of this trail. Climbing in late November there were Lots of wet leaves. But, right off you start climbing and reaching Powissett Peak. It’s a little tough to find the path to reach the peak. When you get to the Peak there are Lots of blue spray paint on rocks. This is first of two peaks. For this particulate trail it was easy to find yourself looking for the tail because there aren’t a ton of markers. This trail goes from blue to yellow to orange and then some off the map trails. When you reach the second peak Noanet, you have to move to the front and look to the left to see the Boston skyline. There were several people up there but there’s still plenty of space to SD. When you’re hiking near the pond, that’s when to keep an eye out for the stone bridge next to the pond. There were also mallard ducks in the pond. This particular trail translated into about 60 flights of stairs in my Apple Watch. You could wear sneakers, but there were some large puddles on the trail from previous nights rain that hiking boots make easier. The trail was lightly traveled in a Tuesday but the parking lot was almost full by 10:00 am.
Great little trails every where you can get lost but not if you have this app open, it shows all trails . Parking is tight on a busy day but just keep driving there are little pockets of parking. We loved it trails are well used but we barely came across people . Bikers are here too but they are polite . We will be back
Well marked and there is a map at the beginning. I wouldn't necessarily follow the trail on here though, it might be old. Beautiful view at the peak.
