Conditions: Hard packed snow and lots of ice. Do it once the snow (and ice!) melt if your schedule permits. Several great views and you can knock out two summits (Round Mt and Mt Fissell) without detouring. 1000 more feet (and a couple hundred feet descent) from the CT Highpoint is the CT MA NY tri state marker.

Challenging but invigorating. Harder than expected. Lots of rock scrambling and slippery areas due to fresh snow and fallen leaves. Only 2.5 mile hike but took solid 2 hours to complete. Follow red blazes as mentioned in previous posts. One beginner hiker, one experienced biker.

Great trail. The views from Mt Frissell are somewhat obscured, but excellent from the overlook above the Harlem Valley. We were at Brace Mtn on a cold day, and the wind was wicked, but just a beautiful spot. We walked back down a trail from just north of Brace Mtn to the Mt Washington Rd to avoid an out-and-back.
