Love this trail! Went the morning after we got a few inches and it was blanketed in white. Beautiful. Trail was mostly broken by XC skiers but there were a few parts that weren’t. Wore microspikes and was fine, it wasn’t super slippery but there could have been some ice under the snow.
Lovely chilly foggy morning. Still have never seen the Sudbury River. Also took a side hike around Walden Pond for fun.
Great trail! Lots to see, several horses & dogs. Trail map was useful as some portions are not clearly marked.
Trail was very flat, lots of sign for ticks and not a lot of elevation. Good for a nature walk
Beautiful hike. There were a lot of folks with dogs off leash today.
Good trail. Not much for signage. Just use the app and you’ll be ok. Lots of side and connector trails to explore. Good for dogs. A few groups of horses were walking through
the trails themselves we're good, not nearly as trafficked as I was expecting which was great, but the intersections aren't marked super well and there were definitely TONS of bugs...kept having to pick them out of my eye lashes
Lots to see on these trails. You go from views of the river (Sudbury) to woodland, wetlands, a horse farm and farm lands. There’s a nice climb to the top of Mt. Misery which is more like a hill and toward the end you brush by Walden Pond. The trails are wide and not too rocky nor full of tree roots. No bugs either! GPS helps to stay on the mapped route as it’s pretty easy to get off course in some places.
Relatively flat and well maintained, this is a nice hike through several forest ecosystems and marshlands. We took the hike clockwise and were glad as the trail follows the Sudbury river and provides some obstructed water views. Mt Misery had a nice wood teepee on top so that part is nice for families. There were some opportunities to go down to the water we did not take.
