Overlook Trail can be considered primarily a connector trail between the Hopper Trail and the Summit of Mt. Greylock. It offers one scenic vista with limited views and easy to moderate terrain. Begins at Mt. Greylock Summit and descends through varying ups and downs to the Hopper Trail. You may also take the trail from the Hopper to the Summit.

Great loop trail, not too difficult but very muddy and wet. A few waterfalls and a nice vista about halfway through!

Just the hike my husband and I wanted to take this morning: moderately challenging loop, shaded, nice overlook, lovely pond and cabin near the summit. It took these 60-year-old office workers just under 2 hours!

Nice loop near the top of Mt Greylock. The trail winds in the woods for the majority of the time, so you don't get great vistas. There is a cool little cabin by the lake. We started from the south using the Campground trail and Hopper Trail to reach the summit, then the Overlook trail on the way down.

desperately in need of some trail love. waterbars when you can find them are overfilled with Duff and silt. a river runs through it.

I think I would have enjoyed this trail more if I had hit it earlier in the day. At the point we reached this trail we had already been out hiking for about 8 hours. The trail was a bit more than we were expecting but not difficult. Don't let the name fool you however into thinking you're going to get terrific views because there is only one vista with limited views. Perhaps in the fall or early spring before the leaves fill the trees the views would be better.
