Nice trail, there are a lot of rocks and roots to be aware of. Once you get out past the lookout point it is down hill with both steep and more gradual paths. There are a lot of smaller split off paths but the major ones are pretty well marked for the most part. There is also a map just down the blue path past the look out point.
This is a great family hike. Just enough up and down to break a sweat, but nothing too strenuous unless you take Tyler to Mentzner...then you're in for a serious short climb. The North Lookout has a nice view of Berlin. There is also a great climbing tree near that lookout. The trails were well maintained. Many places in the conservation area were secluded enough to drown out any sounds of civilization which is nice to find in Central Mass. One last note...this area used to be farmland 200+ years ago and you'll see the stone walls built hundreds of years ago. The fact that they are mostly all still standing is a testament to the skill those earlier masons had.
Really nice well-maintained trails with good bouts of incline and decline. I’d say it’s a medium easy trail.
Only did half of it today, too buggy, beware the onslaught of bugs. Otherwise it was a great trail and I will be back to do the other half!
So peaceful... Amazing landscapes. The trail is mostly rocky with lots of tree roots, and the elevation is mostly moderate. May must be the best time of year to come here, when everything is so green. This trail also features a brook. Overall, highly recommend, but be aware that some parts of the trail appear to be unmarked, so make sure you have your phone charged and ready to go in case you need to check the GPS.
Some of the trails available are not documented. Checked GPS often to navigate. A few great spots for vistas. Nice little trail system.
Nice hike! Just wish the trails were marked a little bit better.
