Very shady, short, steady and mildly steep trail. Perfect for families with children. Start at a small parking lot, cross the bridge and train tracks. The forest was covered in leaves, so its possible to lose the trail- and the leaves were slippery on the way down! Tower has a nice view, but this trail is mostly just a walk in the woods.

Really beautiful, relatively short but very steep hike up to a beautiful viewing tower. I only have good things to day about this trail besides that it is very poorly marked. Many of the markers have come off the trees—you can see nails and bits of broken orange plastic where they once were. We went on a windy fall day where leaves covered the ground so in some parts it was hard to make out the trail so that and the lack of markers made this short hike harder than it should be to follow. Other than the trail being poorly marked we had a great time and enjoyed the stunning view of multiple states’ mountains.

Steeper than I thought it would be. Not many trail markers and there were tons of leaves down we lucked out that it was busy or we could have lost the trail a few times. But now we have hiked it and will probably visit again a few times next year.

Very nice trail, a little steep and rocky in spots. The trail is somewhat slippery now that it is covered in freshly fallen leaves so be sure to wear good hiking shoes.

My family and I enjoyed this hike. The view from top of tower was worth it the hike.

Nice hike with some cardio. Recommend ski pools or walking stick to help with tree roots and rocks. View at the top is only from the top of the tower otherwise you’re just in the woods but tower view is beautiful.

This is a lovely shady trail with some slope at times. The trail is well maintained and moderately trafficked on this late summer weekend. The tower at the top has a view, mostly in one direction. It’s worth the kind of scary climb up the metal steps!!

Started it part way through after finishing ice glen. Relatively easy with a pretty wide trail and a nice little tower overlooking some mountains and a lot of trees.

really nice hike with observation tower at the top.

Good “kid friendly” trail on a nice day. The fire tower at the top is big plus. Less than an hour out and back....just under 2 miles round trip.

Nice hike, just challenging enough. Not much to see until you climb the observation tower at the top. The bridge at the entrance is pretty cool too. Definitely bring bug spray and expect to have to step over a few rocks/boulders.

Good, kid friendly trail. Nice tower at the end where you turn around. Lots of bugs. Need bug spray!

This was a nice gentle hike to the tower where if you climb it, you’ll get views of Mt Greylock. The trail was busy with people and pets. The bugs were out in force and biting.

Perfect trail for a spring day. Scents, blooms and vistas. A real treat.

Hiked the Laura's Tower trail and the Ice Glen trial including the loop down the shared driveway to the road. Laura's Tower trail is a moderate climb in a well maintained trail with plenty of switchbacks to make it less steep. The Ice Glen trail is well maintained, no very steep, but plenty of rocks to climb over.

This was a great trail with lots of bird activity along the way. View from tower was nice with views west of the taconic range in NY along with a splendid view of Mount Greylock to the north.

I FOUND THIS TRAIL TO BE WONDERFUL AND MY FAMILY ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. BUT I THINK THE SIGN MIGHT BE WRONG OF THE DISTANT. THE STONE BRIDGE, RIVER AND TREE FENCES MADE IT WARM AND WELCOMING. THE MOSS COVER ROCK, BOULDERS AND TREES GROWING OVER ROCKS MADE THE VIEWING OF THE TRAIL PLEASUREFUL.EVEN THO YOU ARE GOING UP IN ELEVATION WE FOUND THE TRAIL VERY EASY TO GET TO THE TOP. WHAT IS NICE ABOUT THIS AREA IS YOU CAN PICK A WALK ALONG HOUSATONIC RIVER ON THE MARY FLYNN TRAIL (WHICH IS WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY). THE ICE GLEN TO A VISTA OR THE ALMOST 2 MILE OUT AND BACK LAURA'S TOWER TRAIL TO A STEAL LOOKOUT TOWER IS ENJOY A PANORAMIC VIEW. PLUS THE PEOPLE WE MEET ON THE TRAIL WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND PLEASURE TO CHAT WITH. I CAN SEE THE TRAIL TO BE A LITTLE CONFUSING BUT IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE TOWER STAY TO THE LEFT AND LOOK FOR THE ORANGE TRAIL MARKERS TO THE RIGHT IS THE ICE GLEN AND FOLLOW THE WHITE TRAIL MAKERS. I ALSO NOTICE A LOT OF THE LOCALS DO THIS TRAIL OVER AND OVER AND SO WILL I IF I AM BACK OUT THIS WAY AGAIN. DON'T PASS UP THIS FAMILY FRIENDLY TRAIL. TAKE YOU TIME AND ENJOY THE BEAUTY. PLUS THERE IS SOME HISTORY HERE. YOU MAY WANT TO RESEARCH THE AREA TO FIND OUT ALL THE WONDERFUL HISTORY THIS AREA HAS TO OFFER. ONE PART IS THE BERKSHIRE STREET RAILWAY TROLLEY LINE THAT WAS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN AMERICA.

A nice hike through the woods with a payoff at the top (the view from the tower really is nice). The trails are pretty well marked & nicely maintained & we found ourselves to be the only ones trekking this particular route today!

Short but sweet, steep at places but that depends on if you're running or not. If you're a runner (or even if not) definitely do Ice Glen in the same trip- very cool!

Great view from the tower.

Tough hike up but only because of the incline. Doable and lots of families. Worth the uphill track. Plan to come back with family. Dog friendly. Path up easy to follow and easily identified. Path back down ended up on the wrong path by following worn path but all ended at the right place! Just be careful on the way down to stay on the trail. Worth it and family friendly!!!

Trail recently has re-routed for some reason right by the tower. Watch your route coming back as I've found it very easy to get off the trail. There are lots of paths that people have worn into this area so finding "the trail" can be a challenge.

The tower hike is nice but the Ice Glen trail is wonderful. It looks prehistoric!
