Nice trails. Poorly marked though
great place for fishing. used too go with my dad. bringing in the big Bass
The ponds and lakes were beautiful. Lot's of people fishing. The trails are all very well maintained but not well marked. There is really only one marked Blue trail (and not marked well in some spots) and many offshoots that are not marked at all and are not reflected on the trail map. So if you go exploring it's easy to get turned around. I'd rate the hike as easy with only a few moderate inclines. We hiked 6 miles in about 2 hours with stops along the way. Truly a beautiful area and would do it again.
Always a great time
Pretty good fishing including lots of largemouth, pickerel, crappy, blue gill, pumpkin seed and some yellow perch. Beautiful lake within a state park, so very limited distractions other than occasional small plane landing at local airport. Lots of wildlife including osprey, swan, goose, many kinds of ducks, kingfisher, red-wing black bird, pileated woodpeckers and other woodpeckers, and many other birds I'm not familiar with. Tons of turtles with some huge snappers. Many logs covered with 10 plus turtles.
