Stunning walk through varied, flat terrain. Avoid walking around high tide, you will have a hard time accessing (or returning from) the lighthouse and shore. During my visit, I saw a pod of nearly 100 seals in the water in front of the light house - marvelous.

Worth the walk. Cut across the salt marsh at low tide to the lighthouse.

Nice little flat hike. You get into some deeper sand closer to the Lighthouse but it’s doable.

Low tide and low sun in the sky is the way to go. Feet will stay dry and everything is prettier in the golden hours. No bug problems early August. Enjoyed the hike

Lowkey trail with awesome views. Small parking area but very few people on trail to begin with. A must cape cod hiking experience

Tried to time this with low tide but ran into an Eastern Hognose snake right before I was to cross. I wasn’t up on the identification to know what her behavioral habits and/or “danger” she posed until I googled safely poolside. These snakes can look fierce, sound fierce, (pretending like cobras and rattlers) and then play dead!- but aren’t a threat to humans. Mine just gave me a look because I didn’t get close enough for her to put on a show. Very cool experience. Truthfully the deer flies were worse. Triple the bug spray (even over your clothes) and maybe you’ll have the space and nerve to navigate around a cool snake in peace. Also spotted a toad and a hare. Abundant wildlife in this preserved habitat!

Couldn’t even make it 5 mins from designated lot for this hike. Swarming w deer flies. So many bites. They are not messing around! Drove down the beach a little and parked there, opted to walk in the sand along the water to check out lighthouse and saw hatches Harbor from there. Was a nice walk!

Worth the walk, but must be done at low tide if you want to go to the lighthouse.
