Nice trail to summit of Mt Greylock from the Greylock Glen. Make a loop by returning down the Thunderbolt Ski Trail. You can also ascend/descend Gould's and loop with Cheshire Harbor Trail via West Mountain Rd parking.

This is an extremely hard Trail to Snowshoe I'm glad I did it but I would never do it again.

Great overall hike. Went up mid Nov just after a front moved in. Wind was howling. High 20s temp. Took about 5 hours total with 30 min at the summit. Overall would rate as intermediate not hard. Just a good steady uphill climb. Highly recommend and worth the views at the top.

I went up Gould on a perfect Autumn day in August. The trail was not technically challenging in the slightest, but it was just a long grind of up, up. Consistently steep, but no spots where you had to scramble or anything. No views to speak of along the trail, all forested. It seems pretty lightly traveled. I went up and down and only saw about a dozen others on the trail. Spent about 45 minutes on top taking in the views and watching the para gliders take off the east face of the summit. The entire hike took about 4 hours.

Great trail and was a well maintained route with bridges going over the 2 main streams. There has been a lot of rain so it was quite slick in many steep sections especially in the mid trail area. Luckily we had our mountain hound to find a clear path up and down in areas with fallen trees and streams cutting the trail in half. I imagine this would almost be a moderate trail rating in dry conditions but it gets pretty steep in a few sections. The view at the top is impressive and the hike can easily be done in a morning or afternoon at a semi leisurely pace.

Great hike, very difficult going up because it is very steep. Going down was a breeze, but be careful.

3/19/16 weather was perfect. Temp in the 30's but felt mild. View at the summit was definitely worth the hike. Maximum visibility due to cloudless bright blue sky !

Great trail! Started from Gould Road. Once you pass through the brooks is when you really start to ascend. It's gets rockier as you get closer to the summit and some parts of the trail can be narrow. Overall I really enjoyed it. Not a lot of people so I basically had the trail to myself.

Descended this trail from Mt. Greylock Summit after ascending via the Cheshire Harbor Trail. Gould's trail was a nice gradual descent. In some sections encountered heavy growth. There is an interesting tree, hollowed out that you can walk inside. Watch the signs to make sure you get back to the right parking area.
