Gentle gradient down to pond and back up - some tricky footing areas (roots) but well-maintained pleasant hike, ending at water that's great to play in and picnic next to (Upper Goose Pond).

Amazing hike with our 10, 8 and 4 year old to gorgeous lake for swimming right off the cabin docks! Few pointers. If you look up goose pond as we did or take directions from this app, it takes you to goose pond road and the boat launch. Otherwise 5 miles past Lee outlet malls (right from 7 onto 20) and parking lot on right - "Jacob scenic ladder trail" signs- hike into woods and over I-90 to upper goose pond. We veered off white marked Appalachian trail last .5 miles to right in direction of goose pond cabin and spend time on docks there.
