HikingGreat!

We enjoyed the flaura and fauna, great views of the salt marshes, nice wildflowers. Thanks to the alltrails full app we can take the side paths and explore to make a longer hike.

Pretty trail with lots of views of the marsh. Mostly flat and wide. Red Maple Swamp nearby seems wheelchair accessible with a wide ramp through the woods

The views of the marsh through the trees was my favorite part of this walk. Little surprised along the way.

I love this walk! I used to come here as a kid and it's still wonderful many years later. The marsh is so beautiful and full of life.

One of the most peaceful beautiful “walks” you could find. A gentle “walk” as apposed to any kind of strenuous hike. Bird life abounds in season! Although you’re only a short distance from the hustle and bustle of the main thoroughfare — you feel like you’re alone in nature.

I would consider this less of a hike and more of a leisurely stroll. The views are terrific and well worth the effort.

MY husband and I brought our kiddos to hike here. It was an enjoyable and easy hike. The trail connects to two other trails making our entire hike 2 miles total. All of the trails were beautiful with lots of flora and fauna to see and identify.

I walked this trail mid morning with my wife and three girls (8, 10,12). This was an easy walk, especially if you stay on the main trail. There is a box that usually has maps at the start of the trail. Plenty of places to stop and enjoy the peacefulness. There is a seasonal bathroom about half way, which can be good for kids. At the top you come Indian Rock, a nice little piece of history and great views of the marsh from the top. The trail back is pleasant, and spots you step out a little for some great views and/or photos. The tide was lower and there was a small trail off to the right (not on the map), and only accessible when the tide is down, that lead down onto the edge of the marsh. We walked that right along until you get to where it heads back up the hill through some tall (6ft+) grass and in through some tall shrubs before heading up the hill to the side of the last parking lot. We continued down the main trail until the finish at the Penninman House.

First to Review

Very nice stroll along estuary. Red Maple Swamp trail is out: no walkway through swamp; under repair for 4 years. Walk was scenic and worth the effort. Good birding area.
