Beautiful winter walk! A bit icy/snowy, mostly on the paved areas. Seeing the cabins for the camp was cool.

A sunny, blue sky, crisp, late November day made this trail an exceptionally beautiful one to walk. The Stony Brook Trail was especially nice. There’s something about the November sun - its angle and shadows the light casts - that make every scene a masterpiece. This trail is interesting from start to finish whether you’re walking by Burge’s Pond, Stony Brook wetlands, the railroad tracks, or old, boarded-up cabins that were part of the Camp. For sure on a Sunday, it’s heavily trafficked and a magnet for people and their dogs. For the most part, the trail is level and easy to walk with only a few places with rocks and roots. There are plenty of places to park either on the dirt road near the railroad tracks or farther up the road in a large parking area.

The trail was great only about half the folks were wearing masks which is normally fine out in the woods but when you're on a trail that's only 2 ft wide walking by somebody with a mask would be appreciated.

This was a nice trail with some interesting features. You walk by a freight train line, a swamp, a swimming pond, and a summer camp reminiscent of Friday the 13th. The trail was moderately travelled with a lot of dogs off-leash. We again varied the recorded path in order to get a little more variety and a slightly shorter route. Finally, there were a number of places where caution tape blocked off entire paths. It was completely unclear why the tape was there.

This was for the Run to Home Base virtual walk to support veterans and their families. Our family had committed to do a 5k walk. Beautiful fall morning, no bugs, water views.

Good trail, you trek threw a few different camp sites. Nice stops around the pond/lake. Usually an active camp but not operating cause of CoVid.
